On January 21, 2020, the Research Seminar “Libertad de elección de centro educativo y segregación escolar” was held in Plaza Mayor UAM (Madrid) with the colaboration of UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice. We have the participation of two experts in the field, Javier Murillo, Director of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice and Academic Secretary of DEMOSPAZ, and Julio Rogero, Primary Education Teacher and active member of the El Colectivo Escuela Abierta and belonging to pedagogical renewal movements. During this day, the freedom of school choice and segregation by socioeconomic status was discussed. The speakers expressed their ideas and research in this regard, showing concrete data and problematizing this educational reality that concerns us all.
The European Center for Peace and Development UN University for Peace, an international educational and research organisation within the UN academic system organized the International Conference “Peace and Democratic Multilateralism” on 27th October 2017 . The ECPD conference was held in Belgrade City Hall, beginning at 10:00 a.m. This year, the Conference was devoted to a topical and specific topic in the scope of which issues crucial to the future of peace and development, as well as those concerning democratic processes as an inevitable factor for the stability of the South East European region and in a broader context.
The Conference was opened by introductionary speeches of H.E. Federico Mayor, President of the ECPD Council (long-standing Director General of UNESCO), the esteemed Dr Ouided Bouchamaoui, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2015, H.S.H. Duke Karel Schwarzenberg, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Parliament of the Czech Republic, H.E. Erhard Busek, former Austrian Deputy Chancellor and South East Europe Pact for Stability and Prof. Dr. Johan Galtung, founder and a longstanding President of the International Institute for Peace Research, based in Oslo.
Participants of this Conference were numerous renowned savants (academicians, professors, experts and analysts), politicians and diplomats, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions from Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, China, India, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Tunisia etc.

Members of the Research Subcommittee and the Project Subcommittee of the DEMOSPAZ Institute met in a Research Workshop, held in La Cristalera Residence of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), located in Miraflores de la Sierra (Madrid), during the weekend of January 20th – 22th, 2017.
During the meeting, were explored and discussed the main lines of research of the Institute and were established general bases for the submission of project proposals to different European calls.
