“Surrogacy, Ethical and Legal Projection“, 17 October 2019, Madrid
The nineteenth research seminar of the DEMOSPAZ Institute was held in the Plaza Mayor Building of the UAM, in which we addressed the topic “Surrogacy: Ethical and Legal Projection”.
Eulalia Pérez Sedeño, Research Professor in Science, Technology and Gender at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas
Susana Quicios Molina, Professor of Private, Social and Economic Law at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, participated in this meeting.
During the session, different perspectives of Surrogacy were discussed, addressing ethical and legal issues, such as the implications of the application of technology to the body of women (health problems, mercification and reification of women and babies) and the legal gaps and the problems that this issue currently contains both in Spain and in countries where it is legal, among all, the problem of filiation.
